I planted Jarradale pumpkins (the blue-skinned ones I adore), Nutmeg melons (the netting on them looks like nutmegs!), zucchini, an exotic sweet melon, poblanos, pasillos and still have beans, tomatoes, etc. to plant.
I keep forgetting to post two of my favorite forums. One "open" and one you have to belong to see any posts.
homesteadingtoday.com (I'm Gailann Schrader on there) and thedishforum.com (a soaper site with extremely talented folks on there - also Gailann Schrader).
homesteadingtoday.com is a HUGE site with information on just about everything for everyone. Ok, ok. It IS about everything. From farm animals to soap to pets to firearms to general commentary. Stop by! We like folks to come by. This site was originally owned and maintained by Countryside Journal and Small Stock magazine. When they gave it up, some of the folks involved with the forum took it over. Great site, great people, wonderful information - and it's free to join!
Thedishforum.com is a wonderful site if you are interested in making soap or even just looking at other people's soaps. Come by and join - it's free too!
I'm so tired I may just get a glass of milk, a piece of bread toasted with homemade goats milk cheese, some home-dried black cherries (from my tree) and contemplate the back of my eyelids...
Have a good evening! I'm going to sit out in the atrium for just a brief spell... I need to water and I bought a pelargonium (we usually say a scented geranium) from Hamilton's Greenhouse (a local greenhouse with wonderful plants). The pelargoniumt smells like roses.... Ahhhhh.... Oh! and I need to make some coffee syrup for homemade Frappuccino... (dang double letters)...
